FP Validated Joins SphereNet, a Shared Settlement Network for Institutions, as a Validator Partner
On this page

FP Validated participates in Sphere Ecosystem as a validator partner and contribute to the reliable operation of settlement infrastructure built for regulated institutions.

In this article, we explore SphereNet’s mission and architecture, why FP Validated is interested in the network, and how we view its long-term potential.

1. What Is SphereNet?

Cross-border payments involve banks, payment providers, asset issuers, and other participants operating across different systems and regulatory environments. A shared settlement network for these institutions needs to address participation, privacy, and operational accountability alongside transaction processing.

SphereNet is a shared settlement ledger under development by Sphere Labs for banks, institutions, and market operators. It is distinct from SpherePay, the company’s payments platform, and is designed as infrastructure for moving and settling value in regulated environments. SphereNet is currently preparing a private pilot with partners.

The key features of SphereNet include:

  1. Shared institutional settlement: A common ledger intended to let financial institutions and market participants transfer and settle value.
  2. Cross-border utility: A network designed to connect banking systems, stablecoins, and market infrastructure across jurisdictions.
  3. Issuer neutrality: A shared settlement layer intended to operate independently of any single issuer, asset, or jurisdiction.
  4. Defined governance: A framework for network participation, rule changes, and enforcement that seeks to balance institutional accountability with operational neutrality.

2. How Does SphereNet Work?

SphereNet is being built on a Solana Permissioned Environment. Its design places policy checks within the transaction process, before final settlement, while validators support the integrity and operation of the shared ledger. Implementation details may evolve as the network develops.

Its core architecture consists of the following components:

  1. Permissioned execution environment: A Solana-based environment designed to manage network participation and process institutional transactions.
  2. Pre-settlement policy checks: Identity requirements, jurisdictional rules, sanctions screening, and reporting requirements are intended to be applied during transaction execution.
  3. Protected transaction data: Cryptographic controls are designed to limit exposure of transaction and balance information while preserving transaction integrity.
  4. Role of validators: Validators help verify transactions and operate the ledger. Sphere Labs has described a validator set designed for diversity in operator type, geography, and jurisdiction.

3. Why Is FP Validated Interested in Joining This Network?

FP Validated believes settlement infrastructure for regulated institutions needs to address security, policy enforcement, and operational accountability alongside speed. SphereNet’s approach to shared settlement could become relevant as institutions across Asia explore cross-border payments and digital asset infrastructure.

As we prepare to participate as a validator, we also aim to contribute through research, governance, and ecosystem development. Drawing on Four Pillars’ institutional relationships and understanding of Asian markets, we hope to build stronger connections between SphereNet and institutions in Korea and across the region.

4. About FP Validated

FP Validated is Four Pillars’ institutional blockchain infrastructure arm, built on the company’s research capabilities and extensive infrastructure operating experience. With a deep understanding of the protocols we support, we provide a broad range of services spanning validator operations, governance participation, and secure infrastructure deployment.

Our core infrastructure team brings more than four years of experience at one of Asia’s leading blockchain infrastructure companies, where they collectively operated hundreds of networks. Drawing on this experience, we help institutions in Korea and across Asia participate in blockchain networks securely and in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

Ultimately, FP Validated aims to become the most trusted blockchain infrastructure partner connecting global protocols with institutions across Asia.
