Initia is a Cosmos SDK-based Layer-1 blockchain acting as the coordination hub for an ecosystem of interwoven rollups (Minitias), featuring a native DEX, multi-VM support (EVM, MoveVM, Wasm), and Omnitia Shared Security for all connected L2s. What makes Initia unique is Enshrined Liquidity — instead of traditional staking alone, you can stake either solo INIT tokens or whitelisted INIT-paired LP tokens (e.g., USDC-INIT) directly with validators, meaning your capital simultaneously secures the network while earning staking rewards, DEX trading fees, and VIP gauge incentives. Rewards accrue per block from network inflation (initially 5% annual release for staking) and can be claimed manually, with an optional lock-up that boosts your VIP gauge voting power. Current APY is approximately 2–5% for direct INIT staking, though LP token staking (Enshrined Liquidity) typically yields meaningfully higher returns by stacking multiple reward streams. Unstaking requires a standard 21-day unbonding period during which tokens earn no rewards.

How to Stake

1. Set up an Initia-compatible wallet (Initia Wallet, Keplr, Leap, or Compass) and fund it with INIT — save a small amount for gas fees.
2. Go to the official Initia App (app.initia.xyz) and connect your wallet on the Initia Mainnet.
3. In the Stake section, choose between solo INIT or a whitelisted LP token (Enshrined Liquidity), then select a validator based on commission, uptime, and voting power.
4. Enter your amount, optionally set a lock duration for VIP boost, and confirm the delegate transaction — rewards start accruing once the delegation is active.

💡 Tip: Initia has active slashing — validator misbehavior can affect delegated tokens, so always vet validator performance. If you're holding INIT long-term, Enshrined Liquidity (LP staking) generally outperforms solo staking since you earn emissions + DEX fees + VIP rewards simultaneously — just be aware of impermanent loss risk in the LP pool.
