About Monad
About Monad
Monad is a high-performance Layer-1 blockchain with full EVM compatibility, using MonadBFT consensus and parallel execution to deliver up to 10,000 TPS with sub-second finality (~800ms) and sub-cent gas fees. MON holders can delegate their tokens to validators through native staking, earning rewards from block production and transaction fees proportional to their stake, minus validator commission. Rewards accumulate every epoch — and since Monad epochs last only ~5.5 hours, staking cycles are much faster than most PoS networks. The unbonding period is also remarkably short: approximately one epoch (~5.5 hours), far shorter than the typical 7–28 days on other chains.
How to Stake
- Set up an EVM-compatible wallet (MetaMask, Phantom, Bitget, etc.), add the Monad Mainnet, and fund it with MON plus a small amount for gas fees.
- Go to the staking dApp (gmonads.com or monadvision.com) and connect your wallet on the Monad Mainnet.
- Navigate to the "Validators" tab, review commission and uptime, and select your preferred validator.
- Enter the amount of MON to delegate and confirm the transaction — your stake activates in the next epoch (~5.5 hours).
💡 Tip: Monad tracks slashable offenses in its consensus design, but automated in-protocol slashing is not yet enabled — penalty mechanisms are expected to evolve as the network matures. Rewards are not auto-compounded in native staking, so you'll need to manually claim or redelegate. Liquid staking options (shMON, gMonad) let you keep liquidity in DeFi while earning.
