About Sui

Sui is a high-performance Layer-1 blockchain developed by Mysten Labs, using the Move programming language and an object-centric data model to enable parallel transaction execution with sub-400ms finality. SUI holders can delegate tokens to validators through the network's Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) model, earning rewards from a mix of inflationary issuance and gas fees, distributed proportionally to stake minus validator commission. Rewards are calculated and distributed per epoch (approximately 24 hours), and you only accrue rewards for epochs where your stake was active the entire time. Current APY is around 1–2%, and Sui's seeing mature staking ecosystem where over 70% of circulating supply is already staked. Unstaking is remarkably fast: the unbonding period is just one epoch (~24 hours), one of the shortest among major PoS networks.

How to Stake

1. Set up a Sui-compatible wallet (Slush, Sui Wallet, Phantom, Backpack, or Suiet) and fund it with SUI — minimum 1 SUI plus a small amount for gas.
2. Go to the staking interface via your wallet or (suivision.xyz/validators) to review validator performance, commission rates, and APY.
3. Select a validator based on commission, uptime, and voting power, then click "Stake" and enter the amount of SUI to delegate.
4. Confirm the transaction — your stake becomes active at the start of the next epoch (within ~24 hours), and rewards begin accruing then.

💡 Tip: Sui has a unique slashing model — only rewards are forfeited (not principal) if a validator underperforms or is penalized via the tallying rule. Your staked SUI principal is generally safe, but you'll lose the epoch's rewards if you're with a punished validator. Still, pick validators with strong uptime to maximize consistent rewards.
