FP Validated has joined Initia as a validator and will contribute to the network’s security and governance by operating reliable L1 consensus and oracle infrastructure.
In this article, we explore the core mission and architecture of Initia, why FP Validated decided to participate in the network, and how we view the ecosystem's long-term potential.

1. What Is Initia?
Rollups allow applications to build execution environments around their own requirements. However, they can also fragment developer tooling, liquidity, bridges, and user experiences across separate networks. Development teams often need to select and integrate numerous infrastructure components before they can even launch their applications.
Initia addresses this problem by bringing the L1, application-specific rollups, developer tooling, liquidity, and incentives into a unified network. Each application can maintain its own execution environment while remaining connected to shared assets, users, and economic activity across the broader Initia ecosystem.
Initia therefore aims to provide more than a framework for launching rollups. It is designed as the foundation for multiple application chains to operate as part of a connected economy.
The key features of Initia include:
- Full-Stack Rollup Environment: Initia provides essential infrastructure such as bridges, wallets, explorers, and oracle integrations out of the box, allowing teams to focus more of their resources on building applications.
- Multi-VM Support: Developers can select MoveVM, EVM, or WasmVM based on their application and existing development stack. They can also customize chain-level settings, including the gas token.
- Ecosystem-Wide Incentive Alignment: The Vested Interest Program rewards rollups and users that generate valuable economic activity, aligning application teams, users, and INIT holders around the ecosystem’s long-term growth.
- Integration of Security and Liquidity: Enshrined Liquidity allows governance-approved INIT-based LP tokens to be staked with validators. A single position can therefore contribute to network security while also providing liquidity and earning trading fees.
2. How Does Initia Work?
Initia consists of Initia L1, which acts as the central coordination layer; Interwoven Rollups, which provide application-specific execution environments; and the Interwoven Stack, which supplies the infrastructure needed to build and connect them. Each rollup executes transactions independently while remaining linked to the L1 and other rollups through settlement, asset transfers, data availability, and shared incentives.
Its core architecture consists of the following components:
- Initia L1: Built with the Cosmos SDK, Initia L1 coordinates the Interwoven Rollup ecosystem. It supports rollup state commitments and fraud proofs, ecosystem governance, liquidity through InitiaDEX, bridging, interoperability, and incentive distribution.
- Interwoven Rollups: These are customizable Layer 2 environments where application transactions are executed. Teams can configure the virtual machine, gas token, and other chain-level parameters while connecting to Initia’s shared infrastructure.
- OPinit and Interoperability Layer: The OPinit Executor submits rollup state outputs to Initia L1 and publishes transaction batches to the data availability layer. A separate Challenger monitors these outputs and challenges invalid proposals, while IBC relayers carry messages and assets between the L1 and rollups.
- Role of Validators: Validators propose and sign L1 blocks based on delegated INIT or approved INIT-based LP tokens. They also operate the Connect Oracle Sidecar to provide current price data to the network and participate in governance decisions involving the L1, VIP, and Enshrined Liquidity.
3. Why Is FP Validated Joining Initia Network?
FP Validated sees significant potential in Initia’s ability to preserve the autonomy of application-specific execution environments while connecting their liquidity, user experiences, and incentives within a shared ecosystem. In particular, we believe that reducing the technical complexity of operating a dedicated chain, while ensuring that the growth of individual rollups contributes to the broader network, can serve as important infrastructure for the continued development of application-specific blockchains.
Our contribution will extend beyond operating reliable validator infrastructure. We also plan to participate actively in research, governance, and broader ecosystem development. By leveraging Four Pillars' institutional network and deep understanding of Asian markets, we aim to connect the Initia ecosystem with institutions across Asia and contribute to its long-term growth.
4. About FP Validated
FP Validated is Four Pillars' institutional blockchain infrastructure arm, built on the company's research capabilities and extensive infrastructure operating experience. With a deep understanding of the protocols we support, we provide a broad range of services spanning validator operations, governance participation, and secure infrastructure deployment.
Our core infrastructure team brings more than four years of experience at one of Asia's leading blockchain infrastructure companies, where they collectively operated hundreds of networks. Drawing on this experience, we help institutions in Korea and across Asia participate in blockchain networks securely and in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Ultimately, FP Validated aims to become the most trusted blockchain infrastructure partner connecting global protocols with institutions across Asia.
